“The Morozov Collection. Icons of Modern Art”

The Louis Vuitton Foundation will present, from 24 February 2021, for five months, THE MOROZOV COLLECTION, one of the world’s most important collections of impressionist and modern art. An event of international scope, the exhibition will bring together 200 masterpieces from the collection of French and Russian modern art by the brothers Mikhail and Ivan Morozov.

This exhibition-event is the second part of the theme ICONS OF MODERN ART, organised by the Louis Vuitton Foundation in partnership with the State Hermitage Museum (Saint Petersburg), the Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts (Moscow) and the Tretyakov National Gallery (Moscow). It follows on from the exhibition THE CHCHUKIN COLLECTION, which was a huge public success, bringing together 1.3 million visitors four years ago. After Sergueï Chtchoukine and Samuel Courtauld, the Louis Vuitton Foundation is continuing its cycle of events dedicated to major collectors – pioneering patrons of modern art.

The exhibition THE MOROZOV COLLECTION at the Louis Vuitton Foundation will be displayed in all the rooms of Frank Gehry’s building and will bring together some of the most iconic works by French and Russian artists in the Collection: Manet, Rodin, Monet, Pissarro, Lautrec, Renoir, Sisley, Cézanne, Gauguin, Van Gogh, Bonnard, Denis, Maillol, Matisse, Marquet, Vlaminck, Derain and Picasso alongside Répine, Vroubel, Korovine, Golovine, Sérov, Larionov, Gontcharova,Malévitch,Machkov, Kontchalovski, Outkine, Sarian or Konenkov.
